Stolen Jamie Lynn Spears Breastfeeding Photos Spark Criminal Investigation

An attempt by a so-far unidentified person to sell photos showing images of Jamie Lynn Spears breastfeeding have sparked a criminal investigation by federal law enforcement authorities. Gossip site TMZ.com is reporting the photos were reportedly stolen after Spears’ boyfriend Casey Aldridge took the images to a Wal-Mart in Louisiana for developing. Because Spears is only 17 and still considered a minor, sale of the photos might violate child pornography laws.

Obama Wins, Huckabee Battles in Louisiana Primary Results

Arizona Senator John McCain and Illinois Senator Barack Obama are aiming for a win to add to their victories in the Louisiana primary on Saturday. In the Republican race, McCain pushed to beat former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, who won the Kansas caucuses earlier in the day. In the Democratic primary, Obama took another state away from New York Senator Hillary Clinton.

Three Dead in Shooting at Louisiana Technical College in Baton Rouge

Three students are dead after a shooting Friday morning at the Louisiana Technical College in Baton Rouge. A young female student shot and killed two fellow students in a classroom on the campus before killing herself. The names of the shooter and the victims have not yet been released.

Louisiana to Host First Gay Film Festival

The Baton Rouge Pride Fund announced this week the official launch of "Q, the Baton Rouge Gay & Lesbian Film Festival". Presented by WISH and the Human Rights Campaign, the festival will be held throughout the day on Saturday, August 20th inside the 325-seat Manship Theatre at the Shaw Center for the Arts. “Q” will be the first film festival of its kind in Louisiana.

Gay Discrimination Banned In Louisiana Gov't Jobs
Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Blanco has signed an Executive Order prohibiting employment discrimination against gay and lesbian state government employees. The Order also requires any business contracting with the state to have a non-discrimination policy covering their lesbian and gay workers.

StoneWall Society Network founder Len Rogers announced this week the official opening of the GLBT / Queer Hall Of Fame. The Hall, for the time being, is only available online. Future goals include a permanent physical location for the GLBT / Queer Hall Of Fame and or a traveling exhibit.

Gays Appeal Louisiana Marriage Amendment Ruling
With time running out to block a proposed amendment banning gay marriage from reaching voters next month, an LGBT civil rights group Monday said it would take the issue to the Louisiana Court of Appeals and the state Supreme Court if necessary.

Louisiana Voters To Decide Gay Union Future In September
A proposed amendment to the Louisiana Constitution will be put to voters on September 18 under an agreement worked out between the state House and Senate. The measure would define marriage as a union between a man and a woman only. It would prohibit state officials and courts from recognizing a same-sex marriage, civil union or domestic partnership performed in Louisiana or any other state.

Louisiana Gay Marriage Amendment Moves Closer To Voters
A proposed amendment to the Louisiana Constitution to ban same-sex marriage and civil unions came a step closer to reaching voters Wednesday when the Senate voted 31-6 to approve the wording of the measure. Separate versions had already been approved in both the House and the Senate, and today's vote was part of a harmony bill, but a disagreement over when the electorate will get their say on the ban will force the bill back to the House.
